- For travel commencing on/after 15 May 2015 from/to the
United States of America (U.S.A.) the revised Economy class baggage allowance is 1 piece with a maximum weight of 23kg.
- For travel commencing on/after 15 May 2015 on other regional flights a revised excess baggage charge
of
USD 25.00 applies for weight in excess 24 – 32 kg of Economy class free baggage allowance 1 piece with a maximum weight of 23 kg.
The checked baggage allowance free of charge before and as of the aforementioned revision of the Economy

*** For travel between Brazil and the U.S.A. and travel originating from Brazil to Europe / Middle East .) the Economy class free baggage allowance is 2 pieces with max. weight of 32 kg (70 lbs) and max. dimensions (h+w+l) 158 cm (62 inch) each.
If at check-in of checked baggage the standard baggage allowance (number of piece(s), weight and dimensions) is exceeded then it is a matter of excess baggage . Excess baggage is subject to payment of excess baggage charges.
Excess baggage rates apply to a single flight executed by Surinam Airways to the final destination. When for a baggage several excess rates are applicable then add-up the applicable rates altogether.

Extra baggage at a discount (Only applicable to flights between Paramaribo and Amsterdam)
For any extra bagage between Paramaribo and Amsterdam it is possible to pay in advance the excess baggage charges at Surinam Airways appointed travel agencies or own ticketing offices and receive a discount of
20 % on the applicable excess baggage rate at the following conditions.
- Payment in advance for excess baggage is allowed prior to departure date.
- Payment in advance is permitted for the entire itinerary (out – and/or inbound segment) on PY flights.
- Payment in advance for the out- and inbound segment is equal to 2x the applicable rate and the discount
to be calculated on the total amount.
- Payment in advance for excess baggage is only permitted for ticketed PNR’s (PY record locator).
- Note : Payment for excess baggage at the Airport is not considered as payment in advance.
Important
- Any partly unused portion of the excess baggage amount paid in advance is non refundable.
- Total excess baggage amount paid in advance which is fully ununsed is refundable less a fee of
USD 20.00/EUR20.00
Payment of excess baggage at time of check –in at the airport is not subject to any discount and
also for any payments of excess baggage at the general sales conditions unless otherwise specified .
Other general baggage information
Baggage for children under 02 year.
For a child under 02 year who is booked to travel on a no-seat basis , the following is permitted
- 1 piece checked bagagge max. weight of 10kg (22 lbs) and the content is nursing products for the child.
- 1 fully collapsible stroller or push car or carrying basket or car seat as checked baggage at no charge
or may be carried onboard subject to availability of space.
- 1 piece handluggage with articles for nursing the child onboard with max. weight of 10 kg. (22 lbs) and
max. dimensions 55 x 35 x 25cm (21 x 13 x 10 inch).
Special baggage.
It is allowed to take along special baggage such as sporting equipment, musical instruments, pets.
Certain types of sporting equipment and musical instrument may form part of the standard free bagagge
allowance . The maximum weight allowed is 23kg (50lbs) and only 1 piece will be carried free in lieu of
the first piece within the free baggage allowance.
Exception : Bycicle max. weight 23kg (50lbs) and dimensions (h+w=l) 158cm (62inch), surfboard of
which the lenght is between 107 and 292cm (42-115inch) and max. weight 23kg (50lbs) and
scuba tank max. weight 23kg (50lbs) are subject to excess baggage charge (see below special baggage rates).
Other types of special baggage and eventual more than 1 piece are subject to excess baggage charges.
Exception for golfbags : On top of the free baggage allowance 1 golfbag is allowed – free of charge –
as special baggage. Golfbag containing up to 14 golfclubs, up to 12 balls and 1 pair of golfshoes with a
max. weight of 23 kg (50 lbs).
Important: The carriage of special baggage must always be arranged in advance and timely
prior to the day of departure.

is a rectangular piece of hydrodynamic foam. The boogie board

Equipment accepted is bats, wickets,
pads and balls. This must be stored in a recognized cricket coffin
or soft team bag. |

Field Hockey |
Equipment accepted is sticks,
balls and pads in one equipment bag. Accepted travel cases are
standard team kit bag not exceeding maximum baggage dimensions. |

Fishing Equipment |
Fishing equipment may only be
accepted when it is properly encased and it consists of 1 fishing
tackle box, 1 landing net, 1 pair of fishing boots, 1 reel and
up to 2 rods. |

Golf Equipment |
Accepted golfing equipment consists
of 1 golf bag, up to 14 golf clubs, up to 12 golf balls, and
1 pair of golf shoes. |

Guitar |
Accepted in hard carrying case. |
|
Ice Hockey |
Equipment accepted is a team kit
including sticks, helmet, skates, pads, pucks, gloves etc. Accepted
travel case is a recognized ice hockey kit or team bag. All stick
bags will be accepted but these will incur excess baggage charges. |

Scuba Equipment |
Scuba/diving equipment consisting of not
more than one (1) each of the following: air supply regulator, tank
pressure gauge, tank harness, face mask, pair of diving fins, snorkel,
knife, safety vest, air pistol, spear gun, and a weight belt is
permitted. Knives must be carried in checked baggage, spear guns must
be unloaded with spears packed separately. Flares are not accepted. |

Skiing Equipment |
Snow
/ water skiing equipment consist of:
- One pair of skis, one pair of ski poles, and/or one pair of
boots , or

Cycling equipment accepted consists
of one (1) single seater, non-motorised; touring or racing bicycle.
The cycle must be placed in a cardboard container, pedals and
handlebars should be encased in plastic foam or handlebars are
fixed sideways and pedals removed. In the interest of safety,
tyres should be deflated. |

Surfboard Equipment |
Surfboard equipment is defined as one surfboard required to be in a surfboard case. All surfboard equipment must not exceed 115 linear inches and is subject to the applicable excess baggage charge. |

Scuba Equipment |
Scuba compressed air/gas tanks will be accepted only if
empty and valve is open / removed.
